Hudson and as youth choir director for the GMWA Tulsa, OK Chapter under Rev. Joey Crutcher.

Upon returning to Detroit, Rev. Dr. Marlon D. Ector began serving at Greater Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church under the late Pastor Reginald A. Caldwell, Sr. It was here that Marlon began serving in full-time ministry and, over the next 10 years, served in several senior and executive leadership positions. After Pastor R.A. Caldwell, Sr. passed away in January 2008, Rev. Ector continued to serve under Pastor Rev. Brain J. Watkins (elected pastor).
